Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. is an international manufacturer and distributor of computer hardware products, best known for its award-winning motherboards. The company is publicly held and traded on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Gigabyte designs and manufactures motherboards for both AMD and Intel platforms, and also produces graphics cards and notebooks, with AMD and Nvidia GPUs,
including the Geforce GTX 880M and the Radeon R9 290X. Other products of Gigabyte also have included desktop computers, tablet computers, ultrabooks, mobile phones, personal digital assistants, server motherboards, server racks, networking equipment, optical drives, computer monitors, mice, keyboards, cooling components, power supplies, and computer cases.
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. was established in 1986 by Pei-Cheng Yeh. Gigabyte's components are used in Alienware, Falcon Northwest, and Origin PC. In 2006, Gigabyte unveils its first Ultra-Durable motherboards and Gigabyte announces a joint venture with ASUS. In 2007, Gigabyte develops the world's first software-controlled power supply. In 2010, Gigabyte is awarded "Taiwan's Top 20 Global Brands" by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Gigabyte develops an innovative method to charge the iPad and iPhone on the computer. In 2011, Gigabyte launches the world’s first Z68 motherboard with Onboard mSATA for Intel® SSDs and Smart Response Technology. In 2012, Gigabyte develops the world's first motherboard with 60A ICs from International Rectifier. In 2013, Gigabyte ships 21 million motherboards worldwide.

Since its foundation GIGABYTE keeps with the spirit of “Upgrade your life” and insists on repaying society for its support and caring for society while operating the business. Gigabyte won the 2012 Fulfilling Workplace - Excellent Industry Model Award presented by the Taoyuan County Government. GIGABYTE Education Foundation was set up in 2002 for promoting technological education, innovative education, cultural activities, and the caring of disadvantaged groups and community activities.
