FIAT COMPANY
Fiat Group is an automotive company and was succeeded Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. This Group contains several brands such as Maserati, Fiat, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, the Chrysler group and many more. Fiat was founded in 1899 by a group of investors, including Giovanni Agnelli. Fiat group also manufactured military vehicles, railway engines and carriages, air crafts and farm tractors. In 2013, Fiat group was the seventh largest automaker company in the world and second in European automaker by volumes produced. Fiat built brand-cars in many locations around the world. The largest country of production is Brazil. Fiat group also has factories in Mexico, Poland and Argentina and big history of licensing manufacture of its products in other countries. It also has many joint ventures and alliances around the world.
The grandson of founder Giovanni Agnelli, Gianni Agnelli was fiat’s chairman from 1966 to 1996. After replacing many chairman’s on 1stJune 2004, Giuseppe Morchio was replaced by Sergio Marchionne as CEO. He gave many successive stats for this group and in December 2008, Marchionne announced Fiat had to become one of the top five automobile manufacturer to survive in the long run.
On 10th January 2011, Fiat declared that it had increased its share from 20% to 25% following the achievement of first three performance objective. And in April announced achievement of the second performance objective increasing stakes 5% to 35%. This group’s activities were focused on the industrial production of cars, agricultural and industrial vehicles. Fiat has undertaken various alliances and joint ventures.
