In collaboration with Toshiba Corporation of Japan, he launched India’s first world-class color television: Videocon. Today, Videocon is a household name across the nation.
Videocon is one of the Indi’s largest digital direct-to-home satellite TV providers. It is also the third largest picture tube manufacturer in the world. Videocon’s glass division had the largest glass shell plant in a single location. The group is a US$5 billion global conglomerate. According to Brand Trust Report 2012 & 2013, Videocon was ranked 51st & 25th respectively among India’s most trusted brands while in Brand Trust Report 2014, L&T (joint ventured with Videocon) was elevated to the 17th position among India’s most trusted brand.
