Panasonic started with desire to create things of value. As hard work and dedication result in one innovation product after another, the fledgling company takes its first step towards becoming the electronics giant of today.
Panasonic was started on March 7, 1918, when Konosuke Matsushita founded Matsushita Electric
Housewares Manufacturing Works. Production started with a staff of three members. In 1922, the company’s 1st head office & factory with 50 employees was established. In 1961, the company organized with Konosuke Matsushita as chairman & Masaharu Matsushita as president. In 1977, the company builds a new management team with Toshihiko Yamashita as president & Masaharu Matsushita as chairman. Akio Tanii becomes president in 1986. In 1989, the founder of the company died. Panasonic released Digital Television sets in U.S.A. on 1998. In 2008, the company name changed from Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. to ‘Panasonic Corporation’. In 2009, the company made Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation. In 2011, the company made Panasonic Electrics Works Co. Ltd. & Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. wholly-owned subsidiaries. Kazuhiro Tsuga becomes the president of Panasonic Corporation in 2012.
Panasonic is the world’s foremost company in developing new technologies and its applications. The company has won CNET Asia Editor’s Choice award for its 50-inch plasma screen TV, Viera TH-50PY850. Viera has also been awarded with the Best Product honour by European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) in 2008. Panasonic has also won many other awards & achievements for its camera & other products.
Panasonic has manufactured varieties of television models which are Viera 3D TVs & Viera LED LCD TVs.
Panasonic manufactures other products which are Air Conditioners, Air purifiers, Beauty Care, Cameras, Camcorders, Heath Care, Microwave, Refrigerators, Trimmers, Sound System, Water Purifier, Vaccum Cleaners, Washing Machine and Mobile phones.
