Tissot was founded in 1853 by Charles-Felicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile Tissot in the Swiss city of Le Locle, in the Neuchatel area of the Jura Mountains. Tissot has designed dual-time-zone pocket watches since being founded in 1853. After 1853, Tissot introduced many watches which include Tissot RockWatch in 1985, Tissot Two Timer in 1986, Tissot Pearl Watch in 1987 and Tissot Wood Watch in 1988. The first touch-screen technology watch was introduced in 1999. Tissot has continued its ceaseless expansion on five continents for nearly two decades. Today, the brand is distributed over 160 countries through more than 14,000 points of sale and nearly 200 monobrand stores.
Tissot offers an extensive selection of watches to meet diverse functional needs and tastes, all while meeting strict quality criteria. Such excellence and precision was even recognized in Tissot’s winning 1st prize in the 2011 Concours International de Chronometrie in the “Enterprise Classique” category. An official timekeeper and partner of FIBA, AFL, MotoGP, FIM Superbike and the World Championships of cycling, fencing and ice hockey, Tissot is committed to respecting tradition, underlining its core values of performance, precision and setting new standards.
