Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is a South Korean multinational electronic company headquartered in Suwon, South Korea. It is the flagship subsidiary of the Samsung Group, amounting to 70% of the group’s revenue in 2012, and has been the world’s largest information technology company by revenues since 2009. Samsung is the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones and smartphones.

Samsung was founded in Daegu, Korea on 1938. Samsung Electronics Industry Co. Ltd. was established on 1969. Samsung-Sanyo Electronics (renamed Samsung Electro-Mechanics in March 1975 and merged with Samsung Electronics in March 1977) was also established in 1969. Samsung Sanyo started the production of Black-and-White TV (model P-3202) in 1970 & began exporting to Panama in 1971. Samsung launched world’s third ‘Quick Start’ system TV (Product Name Econo TV). The company had produced 1 million black-and-white TVs till 1976. Samsung stated producing & exporting colour TVs in 1977 and produced 10 million black-and-white TV (which is most in the world) till 1982. The company’s name was changed to ‘Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’ in 1984. In 1986, Samsung developed the world’s smallest, lightest 4mm video tape recorder. The company produced over 20 million colour TVs till 1989. Samsung had developed world’s first 64M DRAM in 1992. The company developed the world’s first 256M DRAM in 1994, 33” double-screen TV in 1995, complete 30” TFT-LCD in 1997, 128MB Flash memory & 128MB Synchronous DRAM in 1998 and 3D TFT-LCD Monitor in 1999. Samsung began the mass production of world’s first digital TV in 1998 and launched the world’s first MP3 mobile phone in 1999. The company recorded cumulative sales of over 100 million units of color TVs in 2000. Samsung developed world’s 1st 50 nm 16GB NAND memory in 2005 & world’s 1st 40 nm 32GB NAND flash memory & 50 nm 1GB DRAM memory in 2006.
Samsung became 1stin NAND flash memory & 2nd in semiconductors worldwide in 2002. The company became 1st globally in flash memory in 2003. The company also became 1st globally in TV market share in 2006. Samsung’s brand value was ranked 19th in the world by Interbrand’s  2010 Best Global Brands in 2009. The company became 1st global electronics company in sales in 2010. Samsung took 9th place among global top 100 brands with a brand value of USD 32.9 billion in 2012.
Samsung has manufactured varieties of television models which are Curved TV, UHD TV, LED TV and Plasma TV, having varieties of series which are Series 9, Series 8, Series 7, Series 6, Series 5 and Series 4.

Samsung manufactures varieties of other products which are Audio Devices, Video Devices, Mobile Phones, Tablets, Cameras, Camcorders, Home Appliances, Personal Computers, Printers, Computer Peripherals and Storage Devices.
